Graal Jodi takes a molten colored bubble of glass and attaches it to another molten bubble of glass. The first bubble is turned inside out over the second bubble. The piece is then blown into a vase and cooled. The overlaid color is then carved by sandblasting, creating a detailed image on the piece. The piece is then brought up to temperature and re-attached to the blowpipe. The piece is then either fire-polished to reveal the color and restore fluidity, or the piece can also be gathered hot again for a clear coat, and then blown into the final form. Our gallery contains a few pieces utilizing the Graal Technique.
